ABOUT ME

DESTIN PIAGENTINI

Hello, and thank you for visiting my portfolio!

My name's Destin, and I'm a game designer with a heavy technical background. As an undergraduate, I studied Computer Science at Fordham University with the intention of breaking into the industry as an engineer. Fortunately, after graduation I had the opportunity to join a small, independent startup called Hidden Leaf Games, where I worked with talented colleagues from across the industry on a game called FANGS and other unannounced projects.

During my two and a half years at Hidden Leaf, I was a major liaison between the engineering and design teams. I worked with designers often, and, occasionally sitting in on their meetings and participating in design discussions, I became enthralled with the process of game design. So, when Hidden Leaf Games closed its doors, I knew I had a unique opportunity to take a risk and pivot to a more design-focused role -- something I had been wanting to do for a while. I officially took the plunge by joining the Master's of Fine Arts Game Design program at the New York University Game Center, where I currently am now.

I knew that I wanted to work with games ever since I was six years old and playing Kingdom Hearts II. I want my games to do for others what my favorite games have done for me: Immerse and engage, delight and surprise, and leave a lasting imprint on those who play them. I hope you join me on that journey.
